MCS 155 Pyronometer

The MCS 155 Pyronometer sensor is designed to field measurements of solar radiation in watts per area. The sensor consists of a solar cell fitted in a waterproof housing with a cosine corrected radiation aperture.
The spectral response of the MCS 155 radiation sensor does not cover the full range of the solar spectrum but the error introduced is of the order of 5% under most conditions of natural daylight.

The output may be connected to either a MCS 120 Multichannel or similar data logger for continuous monitoring of solar radiation. An adaptor is available for mounting the sensor onto the top of the MCS 170 Tower.
The sensor is supplied uncalibrated but can be calibrated using a known value from a calibrated sensor under cloud-free conditions of sunlight.
